I sought treatment through this office for extensive VA Community Care dental work, including multiple crowns and evaluation of a future implant versus bridge option. After discussing treatment sequencing and confirming with VA dental that completing the crowns before implant evaluation was a reasonable approach, I informed the office that I wanted to preserve my implant options before making irreversible bridge decisions involving adjacent teeth. Shortly afterward, I received a call cancelling my appointment. I was told the doctor was “not comfortable” treating me and that I should seek a second opinion. At no point was I rude or confrontational. I simply asked questions about long-term treatment planning and wanted to fully understand my options before proceeding with irreversible dental work. I appreciate that the office chose to withdraw before treatment began rather than move forward with uncertainty, but having extensive approved treatment cancelled the day before my appointment was disappointing and stressful. Patients should feel comfortable asking informed questions about major dental procedures without feeling like they risk losing care entirely.
